Recreation League

Ralston Area Baseball program follows USSSA Rules. The recreation leagues are the backbone to the RABA. Our volunteer coaches work with teams of players who want to learn about the game and fundamentals of baseball. The main purpose of this league is to teach teamwork, sportsmanship and to have fun playing the game

Shetland Ages 4-6 Coed $105.00 per player per season ($130.00 after February 19th)
The basics of baseball are taught at this stage. Players learn basic baseball skills of throwing, catching, hitting and how to run bases. In our league, we strive to develop players by incorporating a coaching soft toss to players as each player becomes able. We do not have umpires at this level of play.

Yearling Ages 7-8 $160.00 per player per season ($185.00 after February 19th)
This is a very exciting stage where players will play a higher level of baseball. This is a coach pitch league where our players will hit off of a coach served pitch at 35 to 40 feet. Coaches are encouraged to toss overhand and adjust to underhand only as needed. Players may advance to bases as the ball in play allows. Players learn how to make plays at this age and experience an end of year tournament. We staff with 1 umpire at this age.

Mustang Ages 9-10 $170.00 per player per season ($195.00 after February 19th)
Players at this level experience the full game of baseball with a few restrictions on scoring per inning and batting line up. This is a full kid pitch level and we staff with 1-2 umpires at this age.

Bronco Ages 11-12 $200.00 per player per season ($225.00 after February 19th)
This is a full game of baseball and is staffed with 1-2 umpires.

Pony Ages 13-14 $200.00 per player per season ($225.00 after February 19th)
This is a full game of baseball and is staffed with 1-2 umpires.

MABL League Ages 15-18 $390.00 per player per season
This league is moderated by the Metro Area Baseball League of Omaha. To learn more about how this league functions, please click here to visit their website.

RABA Refunds Policy:

Requests must be made directly to the VP of recreation and treasurer. Any refund issued will be your registration fee minus the cost of the uniform and prorated on the season up to a 50% MAXIMUM refund.

Refunds will not be given if your personal requests are not honored.

Refunds will not be given for rainouts. Games are scheduled so each field is used at full capacity and for each team to be scheduled the number of games safe to play each week.

RABA Rainout Policy
Monday – Friday the City of Ralston will determine by 3:30 PM if a field is playable and will notify RABA board of their decision. The city has the final decision on field status Monday – Friday. Please note pending weather for evening games will be called to the best of our ability and safety for our players and fans.

Saturday and Sunday members of RABA will determine if fields are playable and if pending weather conditions suggest play is safe. If fields are not playable in the morning, we invite all coaches/volunteers/parents, to come help work the field to make the field playable for later scheduled games. We will not delay games for start, we will cancel games until the field is playable. This means a team could show up an hour early and the field an hour later is just not quite ready to play on.

RABA partners with LaVista recreational department for each baseball season. For updates on field conditions and rainouts on LaVista baseball fields (updated and available after 3:30 pm Monday through Friday and after 7:30 am on Saturday and Sunday), please call 402-697-7756

In the event of a rainout, it is the responsibility of both coaches to agree to reschedule, find 3 dates that work, and propose to the scheduling supervisor for field space as well as the Chief Umpire for officials to be scheduled.
