Weather/Field Policy

RABA Rainout Policy
Monday – Friday the City of Ralston will determine by 3:30 PM if a field is playable and will notify RABA board of their decision. The city has the final decision on field status Monday – Friday. Please note pending weather for evening games will be called to the best of our ability and safety for our players and fans.

Saturday and Sunday members of RABA will determine if fields are playable and if pending weather conditions suggest play is safe. If fields are not playable in the morning, we invite all coaches/volunteers/parents, to come help work the field to make the field playable for later scheduled games. We will not delay games for start, we will cancel games until the field is playable. This means a team could show up an hour early and the field an hour later is just not quite ready to play on.

RABA partners with LaVista recreational department for each baseball season. For updates on field conditions and rainouts on LaVista baseball fields (updated and available after 3:30 pm Monday through Friday and after 7:30 am on Saturday and Sunday), please call 402-697-7756

RABA will post updates on our FaceBook Page regarding field and game status.

Rain in the forecast may or may not cancel a game in advance. Regular season games that start and interrupted by a storm may or may not be completed or resume at a later date. A game should not be same day postponed unless they are the last game scheduled on the field that day.

Lightening: If a game is being played and lightening occurs, the game must go on pause until the the weather improves. Click HERE for further instruction on resuming the game.

In the event of a rainout, it is the responsibility of both coaches to agree to reschedule, find 3 dates that work, and propose to the scheduling supervisor for field space as well as the Chief Umpire for officials to be scheduled.
